The Approach we take to solving business problems

We specialise in providing flexible marketing support for businesses that know they need senior level input into their marketing and commercial operation but are not yet ready to add permanent senior employees onto their payroll. Having worked in many different businesses and not-for-profit organisations, all with their own cultures and challenges, we understand how to best start adding value and get things “up and running”.

1. Meet up for an introductory meeting and discussion

We set-up a “no-commitment” informal meeting. Every business is different so we always start with a face-to-face meeting where you can tell us about your business and we can tell you a bit about ourselves. We will explain about how having a part-time Marketing Director or Commercial Director works. As part of this meeting we will answer any questions you have about the costs, process, timescales etc. Because every organisation is different, it means that our flexible marketing support services are tailored to your unique requirements.This meeting gives us enough information to get a feel for your business and what you are hoping to achieve. We use this initial opportunity, based on what you tell us and our own experience, to form a picture of whether we can help you. If we believe we can help you then we work out how this can most cost effectively be done.

There is absolutely no cost involved or obligation to proceed following this initial meeting.

2. Identify the business priorities

We always want to “hit the ground running”. Experience has taught us that this phase is most efficiently achieved through the running of a half day workshop/meeting. This meeting usually includes relevant members of the management team. There are usually three or four key members of the board or management team who have important expertise and knowledge about the business, your customers and the competition. It is not time-efficient to interview those individuals one, by one. This is why we favour a “kick-off” meeting.

At Perfect Level Ltd we use our established methods to make the meeting effective. So that everyone feels they can speak freely during the meeting we organise for a “non-disclosure agreement” (NDA) to be signed in advance by both parties.

We don’t insist that this is the only way to do it, but our experience shows us that with the right team in the room it is the most efficient way to get things going.

3. Agree the initial plan and likely required effort

From the work-shop write-up we confirm the priorities and the recommended approach. It also allows us to suggest how much Perfect Level time will be necessary. We recommend how we can best provide the flexible marketing support required. If appropriate, we can also scope-out a time-line for any projects that may have been identified during the initial meeting.

4. Get started

We agree a suitable date for the work to commence and we get going. A part-time marketing director role is usually planned on the basis of one day a week at your offices. However, if it is more of a marketing “project” then we will typically provide somebody 2 to 3 days a week over a shorter period of time. As a result of the things learned in the initial meeting, we ensure all of this is tailored to your specific business needs.

5. Regular reviews and reporting

There are thousands of potential ways that your marketing activities can be reported on. The “ideal” marketing reporting will depend on your own personal preferences and also the management information software you have in place. There is a balance to be struck between having great marketing management information whilst avoiding being overwhelmed by information that gets in the way of actually “doing stuff”. We will work with you to organise the reporting so that it is tailored to your requirements. As a result you will get what you need as efficiently as possible.
